Finance Manager, Fleet Finance

Key job responsibilities
- Own financial planning and investment evaluation frameworks for fleet infrastructure, including accruals, variance analysis, and monthly close processes
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify risks, evaluate financial impacts, and influence decisions that improve outcomes and reduce costs
- Work across diverse data sources to identify quality issues, drive root cause analysis, and implement solutions
- Improve, automate, and standardize finance processes to increase efficiency and scalability
- Communicate complex financial topics clearly to varied audiences and lead projects that streamline reporting and planning
A day in the life
- Advising senior leaders on infrastructure investment trade-offs, bringing financial rigor to decisions that shape Amazon's long-term delivery capabilities
- Developing and stress-testing investment frameworks that evaluate cost structures, risk profiles, and return potential across a large, complex asset base
- Determining monthly close and variance analysis — and more importantly, turning those results into forward-looking insights that inform planning and resource allocation
- Partnering with Engineering, Procurement, Data Science, and Sustainability to ensure financial strategy is embedded in operational and technical decision-making
- Building scalable, automated reporting infrastructure that gives leadership real-time visibility into a global fleet asset base
- Preparing executive-level materials that distill complexity into clear narratives and actionable recommendations

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
