About the role
The Finance Manager will lead and develop a high-performing Variable Cost Margin and Yield Accounting team that provides support across two refineries. This role requires driving business partnership and value creation by ensuring Variable Cost Margin and Yield insights inform critical refining and planning decisions. The successful candidate will also champion work process transformation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing Variable Cost Margin and Yield Accounting team that provides support across two refineries, fostering a culture of talent development and Principle-Based Management
- Drive business partnership and value creation by ensuring Variable Cost Margin and Yield insights inform critical refining and planning decisions while maintaining an accurate financial waterfall that reflects true competitive positions
- Own the integrity of marginal analysis, ensuring consistent methodologies, adherence to variance thresholds, and serving as the primary escalation point for material issues or deviations
- Champion work process transformation and continuous improvement by advancing a roadmap encompassing system integrations, automation, and scalable solutions
- Oversee delivery of management reporting deliverables, including weekly estimates, monthly lookbacks, quarterly board reporting, and annual business plans
- Manage external reporting obligations, including quality assurance and submission of government reporting and benchmarking deliverables
Requirements
- Previous leadership and/or direct supervisory experience
- 3+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or a similar role
- Experience performing analysis and relaying insights and recommendations to business leaders
- Experience working within integrated finance and accounting systems
- Experience using MS Office Suite (Access, Excel - spreadsheet creating/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formulas creation, etc.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or similar role
- Finance/Operations Accounting experience in a manufacturing organization
- Experience using business analysis and data visualization tools (Access, Alteryx, Power BI, etc.)
