About the role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Manager oversees finance, budget preparation and monitoring, asset management, and supply chain management services to support Brand South Africa’s strategy.
Minimum Qualification Requirements & Experience
- BCom Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent qualification.
- Professional Membership/Associations (SAICA, SAIPA) advantageous.
- Completed 3 years Articles.
- 5 years of financial management experience.
Key Performance Areas
- Manage the budgeting process aligned with Brand South Africa strategy.
- Plan, evaluate, analyse and consolidate inputs for MTEF financial planning processes: Estimate of National Expenditure, draft Brand South Africa budget, compile budget structures and general ledger codes, determine breakdown structure of anticipated revenue and expenditure for the financial year.
- Implement and manage the risk management process.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports (content, financial and staff).
- Establish, implement and maintain financial management and internal control systems (policy development, investment and cash management, prevent unauthorised/fruitless/irregular expenditure, manage transaction validity, reconcile balance sheet accounts).
- Prepare financial statements and manage annual audit.
- Administer SAGE Payroll (payroll preparation and payout, IRP5, EMP501 reconciliation, timely PAYE, Pension and Medical Aid payments).
- Coordinate monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage the overall Brand South Africa budget with line managers to ensure alignment with the business plan.
- Establish and maintain a financial reporting system compliant with GRAP, PFMA, Treasury Regulations and IFRS.
- Ensure effective, efficient and economic use of resources supporting budgeting processes.
- Act as custodian of Brand South Africa assets and maintain the asset register in compliance with Treasury regulations (GRAP).
- Contribute to the development of finance policies.
- Provide organisational management and governance support.
- Perform supplier relations performance management and input specifications for supplier relations management; contribute to SLAs.
- Implement and manage the Supply Chain Management system.
- Establish and manage a fair, equitable, transparent and cost-effective supply chain management system (including supplier database).
- Conduct contract management, compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Delegate work assignments, provide leadership, coaching and direction to direct reports to achieve objectives and improve performance.
- Ensure team members meet performance objectives as per individual agreements.
- Support staff development, motivation and training; recruit and select staff as required.
