About the role
The Finance Assistant supports Mennel's food safety programs and mission to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service. Key responsibilities include accounts receivable reconciliation, site vendor certification management, productivity reporting, direct material inventory controls, and financial policy compliance.
Responsibilities
- Follow food and personal safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain the department/facility in an audit-ready condition.
- Complete daily inventory comparison reports and investigate discrepancies.
- Gather and enter performance tracking data for production analysis.
- Coordinate approvals and reconcile scrap detail for materials and ingredients.
- Reconcile daily shipments with customer payments and report weekly to corporate.
- Aid in month-end processing as needed.
- Manage new vendor requests and changes to the purchasing system.
- Handle vendor site compliance, including insurance certificates, workers' compensation, and confidentiality agreements.
- Communicate plant notifications and updates via the daily communications board.
- Coordinate quarterly and year-end physical inventory counts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three years of job-related experience, preferably in a finance department.
- Extensive knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office Suite), computer hardware, and computer servers.
- High level of interpersonal skills, including handling sensitive and confidential situations.
- Excellent attention to detail, including composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
- Good to excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.
- Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to use solid judgment and quickly recognize and plan for changing work duties and events.
- Regularly stands, walks, uses hands, reaches, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, twists, crouches, or crawls, and lifts up to 50 pounds.
