The Job

The support of donors is vital to Mia’s mission of inspiring wonder through the power of art. As a key ambassador for Mia, you'll build meaningful relationships with high-profile, high-capacity donors — identifying prospects, cultivating connections, and securing gifts that power the museum's mission. This includes unrestricted annual giving, designated gifts for special projects and programs, and planned gift commitments. Through personal, one-on-one engagement, you'll guide donors from first conversation to closed gifts, helping turn their passion for Mia into lasting support.

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of 75-100+ major donors and prospects ($2,500+), driving the full cycle from identification through stewardship to meet annual fundraising goals
  • Build and execute individualized donor strategies, prioritizing one-on-one meetings to deepen relationships and secure long-term support
  • Partner with Advancement leadership, staff, and volunteers to advance portfolio strategy
  • Draft proposals, endowment agreements, and other donor/advisor materials
  • Stay current on Mia's mission and priorities, plus trends in major and planned giving
  • Help shape tailored donor communications, benefits, and events
  • Keep Salesforce records accurate and up to date, including all donor activity and contact reports

Education Coordinator

The Education Coordinator plays a crucial role in the Education department by coordinating programming and working closely with the team. Key responsibilities include administrative support for studio classes, in-gallery lessons, and workshops for PK-12 teachers, students, higher education professionals, and youth groups. Additionally, this role collaborates with other department coordinators to streamline programming processes.

  • Cook up all aspects of learning/education programs. Assignments could include creating and managing schedules for PK-12 programs during the school year and offerings during the summer for summer schools.
  • Create supply lists, ensure that materials are ordered and prepared for programs.
  • Oversee scheduling for Art Adventure pick up and drop off, sending emails to in-person and online training, including links for online sessions.
  • Collaborate with department staff on details and communications.
  • Serve as day-of coordinator at programs and assists with studio and in-gallery program setup. Order materials and refreshments for educator events.
  • Create and manage email lists of administrative leads, curriculum coordinators and teachers by district and grade level, as well as lists of university/college instructors by disciplines.
  • Request translation services for program and learning resources.
  • Process contracts, bus reimbursements, and payments.
  • Create invitations for educator events and manages registrations.
  • Set up interview schedules for casual/program-specific hiring.
  • Support recruiting and training of volunteers.
  • Make website updates for the Learning and Volunteers teams.
  • Track Learning programs statistics.
  • Support the Volunteers team with administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with department coordinators to streamline program processes.
  • Additionally, the role includes assisting the Education and Visitor Experience teams with onsite education programs.

To be successful in this role, you have...

  • You have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in visual arts-related field or equivalent experience
  • You have one year experience with program coordination
  • You have excellent communication and customer service skills, methodical, detail-oriented, well-organized
  • You have experience utilizing multiple types of office and scheduling software - Google Office Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management software (Asana), Scheduling software, CRM software (Salesforce)
  • You have high-functioning multi-tasking capabilities as well as work initiative, problem solving, accuracy, follow-up and follow-through
  • You have excellent organizational and time management skills
  • You can work independently or as part of a team

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year experience with program coordination
  • Experience supporting a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, methodical, detail-oriented, well-organized
  • Experience utilizing multiple types of office and scheduling software - Google Office Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management software (Asana), Scheduling software, CRM software (Salesforce)
  • Ability to provide administrative support utilizing high-functioning multi-tasking capabilities as well as work initiative, problem solving, accuracy, follow-up and follow-through
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Preferred:

  • Two to three years of related experience, especially with schools and volunteers
  • Experience engaging with students, families, the public, volunteers, and/or visitors in a customer service, educational, or community-facing environment.
  • Knowledge of some art history is helpful
  • Experience with scheduling and volunteer software desired

Other requirements:

  • Work onsite at Mia. (No remote)
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs. as part of program setup and breakdown
  • Stamina to work for extended periods during events and handle physically demanding tasks
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours (approximately twice per month), including evenings and weekends, as required by program schedules
