Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Affords departments with the grant application process, evaluates grants for City matching requirements, assesses the potential impact on the City prior to application submission
- Maintains grant accounts, prepares reports, processes draw requests, and ensures compliance with grant requirements
- Evaluates agenda items related to grants to confirm funding requirements are satisfied
- Conducts complex analysis of financial data related to various grants, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Produces monthly journals and conducts reconciliations of general ledger accounts to maintain financial integrity
- Supports the creation of monthly and quarterly financial statements, as well as the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
- Provides documents, schedules, and financial analysis to aid independent auditors during the City’s annual audit
- Promotes transparency and adheres to City policies and procedures, including work schedule and attendance policies
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field
- One (1) year of experience in public accounting, private sector accounting, or governmental accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Certified Public Account (CPA) or Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) certification or progress towards CPA or CGFO certification preferred
