About the Role
The Toyota New York Region is seeking a highly motivated Toyota/Lexus trained MDT/Master/DS technician to become a Regional Field Technical Specialist. This role involves providing direct in-dealership technical support for Toyota vehicle repairs, creating Field Technical Reports to improve vehicle quality, and consulting Dealers on technical training for their staff. Field Technical Specialists are also part of a District team that supports local initiatives throughout the year.
Reporting to the Technical Services Training Manager, the Field Technical Specialist’s objective is to improve customer satisfaction, increase ownership experience, and reduce/prevent unnecessary buybacks. These activities directly contribute to long-term customer satisfaction, future product sales, department goals, and overall company and dealer profitability.
Responsibilities
- Maximize customer retention and loyalty by ensuring Dealer execution of the "Fix It Right the First Time" Protocol on customer vehicles
- Promote customer retention/satisfaction by providing direct "hands-on" support/assistance to dealers/technicians for diagnosing and resolving customer technical concerns, as well as direct customer interaction
- Provide Field Technical Reports to Product Quality Service Support (PQSS) for future product improvements
- Provide direct assistance to District Parts and Service Managers on technical warranty issues to ensure proper warranty repairs and claim processing
- Consult Dealers on their technical training activity to ensure an adequate number of certified technicians
- Support technician skills development through active management of Skill Level Guidelines
- Provide TMNA Legal Department and Regional support for the National Center for Dispute Settlement administrators through technical support, including inspections and investigation
- Report any concerns in a timely and accurate manner to the Field Technical Training Manager for future product improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an Automotive or Technical discipline, a business degree, or extensive related work experience with associated vocational education degree or certificate
- Experience in collision and accident reconstruction analysis
- All eight (8) ASE certifications (A1-A8) plus L1 preferred and need to be maintained in the FTS position
- Ability to travel up to 75-80% during the work week
- Relocate if needed and be in proximity of the Regional Office for meetings and office activities
- This position requires driving and overnight travel. A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position and needs to be maintained
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of recent Toyota/Lexus Dealership experience
- ASE Master Certification (L1)
- Toyota/Lexus Master or Master Diagnostic Technician certification

Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $110,100.00 - $178,900.00.
Schedule
This position requires up to 75-80% travel during the work week, including overnight travel.
