Field Specialist III - PPS_FLD-H

About the role

Partner with the Best Quest Integrity, a Baker Hughes company, to deliver safe, precise, and high-quality field inspection services for the energy and process industries. Lead and facilitate API 653/570/510 inspections for above-ground storage tanks and pressure vessels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure proper safety procedures and equipment are being used
• Perform inspections in accordance with API 653 and related industry standards
• Document inspection activities following company and customer guidelines
• Recommend repairs and inspect completed repair work as required
• Manage clear, accurate, and professional communication with customers and office teams
• Lead and direct field crews to complete projects efficiently
• Make quick, informed decisions on the job to ensure successful project completion
• Complete all required training within company guidelines
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• 5 years of field inspection experience
• API 653 certification
• Strong working relationships with coworkers, management, vendors, and customers
• Willingness to travel up to 75%, including short-notice and overnight travel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to pass background checks and drug testing (including random testing)
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport and TWIC card
• Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces
• Knowledge of or certification in MFL, UT, MT, VT, PT, and other NDE methods as required

Qualifications

• Pass a Pulmonary Fit Test if needed
• Occasional exposure to shop environments and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Frequent kneeling or working on all fours
• Requires working in confined spaces
• Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions
• Requires adequate vision/corrective eyewear and ability to distinguish colors
• Requires frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
• Availability by phone during non-standard hours
