Field Engineer
Description
This is an evergreen opportunity supporting upcoming solar and BESS EPC projects across the U.S. Field Engineers are placed on project sites for the duration of the build (typically 8–12 months) and then transition to the next project. This is an on-site, field-based role.
Summary
Candidates must be comfortable with a project-to-project travel lifestyle.
Essential Job Function & Responsibilities
- Support Site Managers and Superintendents in daily construction activities
- Aid with project coordination, logistics, and material tracking
- Review drawings and help ensure work aligns with project plans
- Track production, progress, and key project metrics
- Support safety and quality efforts on site
- Coordinate with subcontractors and internal team
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- 0–3+ years of construction experience (solar or utility-scale preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with construction/project management tools (e.g., Procore or similar)
- Ability and desire to work collaboratively to ensure successful project execution
- Proven ability to generate and deliver reports that provide useful insight into project details
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Excellent communication and organization skills

Examples of Mobility Barriers
- Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.)
- Able to walk or move continuously while carrying 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site
- Predominately outdoor climate
- May be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather
- Excessive humidity, rain, etc.
- Variety of noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.
- Potential exposure to chemical substances
- Work performed around hazardous equipment
Pay
The salary range shared in the job description is for the listed position and only pertains to the candidate if they work in Irvine, CA. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job's minimum qualifications. If candidates are considered for a nationwide role, then the compensation range will follow the marketability of the job function within those states. An additional discretionary bonus structure or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
