Field Engineer

About the role

MCA is seeking an experienced Field Engineer in San Antonio, TX to support our fast-growing Security division. We welcome veterans and offer a values-driven environment focused on service, growth, teamwork, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee system infrastructure, hosting, connectivity, and licensing.
• Program and commission systems for projects.
• Develop programming documents and system matrices.
• Perform pre-installation programming, kitting, and device configuration.
• Provide technical support to other technicians.
• Apply digital licenses as needed.
• Ensure quality assurance on system installations.
• Maintain and enforce device labeling standards.
• Collaborate with engineering during design and drafting phases.
• Contribute to the Design Team by providing drawings, red lines, and as-builts.
• Participate in the review process for large or complex projects.
• Provide field support and on-the-job training for technicians, including technical and standards training.
• Maintain and update job specifications as needed.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in physical security.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Expert knowledge in Lenel OnGuard Enterprise architecture.
• Experience managing, installing, configuring, engineering, and designing security systems.
• Experience with one or more of the following systems: Lenel S2, Avigilon, Genetec, Axis, Milestone, and other major OEMs.
• Ability to maintain a US Government Public Trust Clearance (current active clearance desired).

Work Environment

The role requires working both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions. Duties include frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling tools, climbing stairs, and using personal protective equipment. The position may involve lifting equipment up to 50 pounds, ascending/descending ladders, operating a motor vehicle, and maintaining computers or other equipment. On-call availability for critical systems maintenance may be required.

Schedule

First shift hours Monday – Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.

Travel

Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs.
