About the Role
Kimley-Horn's Las Colinas, Texas office is seeking a Field Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their team. This role serves as the central point of integration between the design team, owner, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction during construction. Candidates must be open to relocation as needed.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate site and civil construction-phase services on large, complex projects to verify constructed work conforms to approved design intent and contract documents.
- Oversee timely and accurate review of contractor submittals and RFIs.
- Facilitate and participate in construction meetings, maintaining clear, well-documented communication among all parties.
- Conduct on-site construction observations and reporting to verify installed site and civil components align with plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Identify potential deviations or constructability issues early and help resolve them in a manner consistent with contract documents.
- Manage high volumes of project information, including RFIs, submittals, meeting documentation, and field observations.
- Support project schedule, quality, and risk management objectives through disciplined construction-phase oversight.
- Bridge design and execution, protecting the owner’s and designer’s interests through thorough documentation and proactive coordination.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant construction experience; large-scale industrial experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to travel and relocate as needed.
- Experience with construction management software (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid) preferred.
- Ability to interpret complex civil design plans and specifications.
- Strong organizational skills and professional judgment.
- Commitment to safety and strong communication skills.
