Field Service Truck Specialist

About the Role

Heritage Industries, a leader in the work truck and equipment industry, is seeking a Field Service Truck Specialist to perform field service calls and repairs on client work trucks and equipment. This role requires strong communication skills, diagnostic/troubleshooting abilities, and a hands-on understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will take ownership of client issues from start to finish and work with a wide range of manufacturers' equipment, often with little to no documentation available.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to personal responsibility for safety and work safely at all times; comply with all company safety programs and policies.
• Perform field services and repairs on various makes/models of equipment, including Heritage, IMT, Stellar, Venturo, Miller, Mi-T-M, Boss, and others (cranes, welders, compressors, PTOs, pumps, variable pumps, Miller Enpaks).
• Comply with all DOT regulations, including obtaining and maintaining a DOT Medical Card to operate company field service vehicles.
• Work out of town, overtime, and on weekends as necessary.
• Maintain field service vehicle and all company-provided equipment.
• Order and return parts as necessary for each job performed.
• Schedule and maintain workload; adhere to assigned work schedule.
• Maintain accurate daily timekeeping and thorough, high-quality technician notes/documentation on all diagnostics, repairs, and work performed (daily reports, inspections, timecards).
• Obtain certifications: MSHA, CDL, crane inspector certificate, air tank inspector certificate.
• Work as a team, communicate effectively, and take ownership of assigned tasks to deliver a world-class customer experience.
• Use TRACK in all aspects of every job.

Requirements

• Clean MVR (no more than 1 moving violation under the age of 25, and no more than 2 if over the age of 25).
• Current Utah driver’s license.
• Safety-conscious with an excellent safety record.
• Strong working knowledge of truck equipment: hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatics, including the ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics and diagnose issues without OEM documentation.
• Willingness to learn troubleshooting skills from other journeyman mechanics and utilize tech support as necessary.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work safely with minimal supervision on customer job sites while maintaining thoroughness.
• Strong time management skills; must accurately track daily time and maintain detailed, high-quality technician notes.
• Positive, team-first attitude.
• Possess or be able to obtain all tools required for field service repair.
• Willing and able to work overtime and weekends if necessary.
• Ability and willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing environments.
• Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the work truck industry, automotive, and/or truck equipment upfit, service, and repairs.
• Experience with field service and in-shop service operations.
• Experience with cranes (IMT, Stellar, Venturo, or similar), compressors, or variable pump systems.
• Understanding of CAN bus systems.
• Current MSHA certification.
• Associate degree or Technical Degree in automotive or diesel mechanics.

Travel Requirements

Travel is required, including call-outs on a regular basis both locally and throughout Utah, Arizona, Wyoming, Nevada, and Idaho.
