About the role
The role supports field Service operations within Sungrow USA, focusing on commissioning, warranty, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of expanding solar power installations.
Responsibilities
- Install, operate, test, and maintain solar inverters and ancillary equipment/systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues following Sungrow’s maintenance and repair guidelines.
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning of solar inverters and BESS systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and LTSA activities as per contracts.
- Investigate and report on solar plant issues, including DC array grid faults, inverter design issues, and utility grid transients.
- Lead upgrade/rework projects and interact with customers to explain project scope and manage schedules.
- Work with customer SCADA engineers to set up system communication and parameters.
- Document troubleshooting sequences and basic mechanical and electrical issues.
- Prepare and submit daily activity and JSA reports.
- Ensure compliance with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
- Communicate effectively with Design Engineers and other engineering, logistic, financial, and program management disciplines.
- Follow company safety policies and use PPE.
- Conduct Job Hazard Analysis and ensure LOTO authorization.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university or college.
- Renewable industry experience preferred.
- Power Electronics experience preferred.
- OSHA 10 certificate within 12 months of hire.
- NFPA 70e certificate within 12 months of hire.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Complex problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 3+ years of overall experience in a technical field, 2 years in solar inverters or BESS.
- Ability to work with test equipment and hand tools.
- Proficiency in following instructions and established procedures.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Travel 80%.

Pay
Compensation commensurate with experience. Base pay range is between $36 to $40 per hour plus overtime. The range is determined by various factors including job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, location, or other relevant factors.
Schedule
Contract role, West Phoenix area. Travel 80%.
