About the role

The role supports field Service operations within Sungrow USA, focusing on commissioning, warranty, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of expanding solar power installations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, operate, test, and maintain solar inverters and ancillary equipment/systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues following Sungrow’s maintenance and repair guidelines.
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning of solar inverters and BESS systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and LTSA activities as per contracts.
  • Investigate and report on solar plant issues, including DC array grid faults, inverter design issues, and utility grid transients.
  • Lead upgrade/rework projects and interact with customers to explain project scope and manage schedules.
  • Work with customer SCADA engineers to set up system communication and parameters.
  • Document troubleshooting sequences and basic mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Prepare and submit daily activity and JSA reports.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with Design Engineers and other engineering, logistic, financial, and program management disciplines.
  • Follow company safety policies and use PPE.
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analysis and ensure LOTO authorization.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university or college.
  • Renewable industry experience preferred.
  • Power Electronics experience preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certificate within 12 months of hire.
  • NFPA 70e certificate within 12 months of hire.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Complex problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 3+ years of overall experience in a technical field, 2 years in solar inverters or BESS.
  • Ability to work with test equipment and hand tools.
  • Proficiency in following instructions and established procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Travel 80%.

Qualifications

  • OSHA Authorized Person for LOTO.

Pay

Compensation commensurate with experience. Base pay range is between $36 to $40 per hour plus overtime. The range is determined by various factors including job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, location, or other relevant factors.

Schedule

Contract role, West Phoenix area. Travel 80%.
