About the role
The role supports field Service operations within Sungrow USA, focusing on commissioning, warranty, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of expanding solar installations.
Responsibilities
- Install, operate, test, and maintain solar inverters and ancillary equipment/systems
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics according to Sungrow’s guidelines
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning of solar inverters and BESS systems
- Investigate and troubleshoot solar plant issues, including DC array grid faults, inverter design issues, and utility grid transients
- Lead upgrade/rework projects in the field and interact with customers to explain project scope and manage commitments
- Work with customer SCADA engineers to set up system communication and parameters involving Sungrow’s controllers and F&G systems
- Prepare and submit daily activity reports and JSA reports
- Own creation and submission of all field paperwork and documentation
- Follow company safety policies and training requirements, including PPE use
- Conduct Job Hazard Analysis and follow established procedures
- Designated as Authorized Person for Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO)
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university or college
- Renewable industry experience preferred
- Power Electronics experience preferred
- OSHA 10 certificate within 12 months of date of hire
- NFPA 70e certificate within 12 months of date of hire
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Complex problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 3+ years of overall experience in a technical field
- 2+ years of experience in solar inverters or BESS
- Able to work with test equipment and hand tools
- Able to follow instructions and procedures
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently in the field and with engineering teams
- Experience with OSHA, NFPA 70A, and electrical safety
- Experience with MV transformers a plus
