Field Service Tech I

Position Summary

Responsible for supporting wind turbine operations, focusing on major component exchange jobs under the guidance of more experienced technicians. Ideal for developing a foundational understanding of the renewable energy industry, with a focus on safety-driven practices and high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in major component exchanges for wind turbines, including but not limited to gearboxes, generators, and blades.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on turbine systems.
• Ensure all work is conducted in strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Record detailed reports on maintenance and repair activities.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of turbine systems and components.
• Participate in ongoing safety training and adhere to safety-first culture.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in wind turbine maintenance preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
• Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Safety conscious mindset and adherence to safety regulations.
• Able to work well under pressure and within timelines.
• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
