Holt CAT in Irving, Texas is seeking an experienced Field Service Supervisor for our field engine department. This role ensures the successful management and achievement of field service work and operational goals through job quoting, work order review for customer billing, customer communications, and adherence to field safety practices and operating policies. The position is critical to ensuring complete customer satisfaction while aligning with corporate goals.

About the role

This position reports to Eric Shirey within the Power Systems Division (PSD) at our Irving location (2001 N. Loop 12, Irving, Texas 75061). The incumbent is expected to model company values, collaborate with internal and external resources, and engage in ongoing self-development.

Responsibilities

  • Model, promote, reinforce, and reward the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.
  • Establish, communicate, and mutually agree upon job expectations (e.g., accurate price quotes and time estimates) to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Model and reinforce safety practices to ensure employee and customer safety.
  • Demonstrate collaborative problem-solving and personal influencing skills to align service activities with the overall business plan.
  • Provide the Service Manager with accurate and timely status reports on all open work orders.
  • Review the monthly service operations branch statement to assess progress on department business goals.
  • Participate in the selection, development, and evaluation of service department personnel to maintain high levels of commitment and competence.
  • Coordinate the company safety program in all areas of responsibility in accordance with corporate policies and guidelines.
  • Complete key projects as assigned by management.
  • Work safely at all times and comply with all applicable safety policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Interview, hire, and train employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work; provide coaching and development.
  • Appraise performance; reward and discipline employees.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial engine repair experience in shop and field required; 5 or more years preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience in field service management of industrial engines (natural gas or diesel).
  • Valid driver’s license.

Travel

Up to 20% travel, including overnight stays, is expected.

Physical Requirements

  • Extended periods in a stationary position; occasional movement within the office.
  • Frequent communication with others to exchange accurate information.
  • Routine response to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Primarily in a professional office with environmentally controlled conditions.
  • Occasional outdoor work around moving mechanical parts; exposure to weather extremes (heat, cold, humidity, inclement weather).
  • Potentially loud noise levels.
  • Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment.
  • Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment.
  • Fast-paced environment with unscheduled interruptions.
