Field Service Engineer (Remote in Carolinas)

About the Role

This is a remote/field position that provides an advanced level of service and consultation to customers’ biomedical-process applications. The role performs advanced troubleshooting and optimization while maintaining best-in-class quality standards and delivering the company’s value proposition to secure recurring business, customer satisfaction, and long-term loyalty. Extensive travel throughout the Carolinas and the eastern seaboard is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth advice on customer applications for optimal performance results.
  • Perform consultative support for new installations, equipment calibrations, remote monitoring, and feeding technology.
  • Service the mechanical installation and secure performance and reliability of pumps, piping, chemical-feed systems, storage tanks, and other connected systems.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with customers and key stakeholders alongside the sales account manager.
  • Deliver customer technical training as required.
  • Identify new business opportunities and transfer sales leads to the sales teams.
  • Provide comprehensive customer service reports according to company policies using company tools.
  • Properly maintain all company-owned equipment (tools, instruments, safety equipment, and vehicle).
  • Complete all administrative requirements, including basic skills and safety training courses.
  • Manage inventory and supplies required at the customer site.
  • Deliver on service KPIs, including safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Secure conditions for safe operations according to company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Perform similar or related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance, sanitation, or related experience in food/beverage or biomedical production environments.
  • Expert knowledge of food and beverage sanitation or biomedical sanitation practices and terminology.

Skills

  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Deep knowledge of cooling, boiler, wastewater, and food-sanitation systems.
  • Proficient in the use of monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Able to build professional customer presentations using MS Office tools.
  • Experience with CRM software.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Capability to move up to 60 lbs. by hand and 300 lbs. with the use of a hand truck.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Visual acuity necessary to utilize computers and electronic devices.
  • Extra hours and some travel may be required.
