Field Service Engineer - Remote (Chicago area)

About the Role

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, is a global leader in critical power solutions, supporting industries from financial institutions to data centers. We are seeking a Field Service Engineer - Remote (Chicago area) to join our team. This role reports to the Field Service Manager and is based in the Chicago area. The successful candidate will provide installation supervision, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair work for low voltage distribution gear, transformers, and related power distribution equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical reports and test sheets, monitor spare parts, tools, equipment, and consumables.
• Maintain and follow safety regulations for the company and specific work sites.
• Attend site meetings and interface with Project Management and site personnel.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing client needs and escalating issues when necessary.
• Communicate regularly with Project Managers, receiving and relaying information.
• Proactively work to eliminate waste and add value to processes.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical power distribution or related field and/or 3+ years of similar work experience.
• Military experience preferred.
• Data Center or equivalent mission-critical system experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with electrical power distribution systems, power monitoring systems, AC/DC electrical power, and communication protocols.
• Three to five years’ experience in the design of low voltage switchgear assemblies/systems and/or power distribution equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of UL Standards (e.g., UL67, UL1008, UL10008S, UL60950, UL891, UL1558).

Requirements

• Ability to travel 50% or more.
• Ability to work on-call, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Must respond and arrive on emergency calls within 2 hours.
