Field Service Engineer Level 2-3 - Wet Tools

About the role

Provide onsite support for installation, maintenance, and site support for state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing/wet processing equipment. Work with co-workers, customers, and field support to isolate and resolve problems under strict time restraints. Adapt to varying schedules, including standard day shifts, compressed schedules, or night shifts, and be available for overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose problems, then make proper repairs.
• Follow and help develop detailed procedures.
• Troubleshoot and document findings.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of equipment at customer facilities under direct supervision.
• Power up new equipment; perform mechanical setup and calibration.
• Set up tool parameters using specifications and guidelines.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and repair using specified procedures.
• Work with customers on-site to build rapport and gather information about equipment performance.
• Perform complex assignments using independent judgment under limited supervision.
• Conduct extensive troubleshooting, diagnose equipment problems, and promptly make repairs or adjustments.
• Escalate problems that cannot be resolved in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Ability to perform successfully in a demanding environment with varying workloads.

• Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Experience using alignment tools (micrometers, calipers, multimeters, current clamps).
• Ability to read schematics and plumbing diagrams.
• Chemical handling experience, including familiarity with protective equipment and hazards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Work according to strict procedures with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Qualifications

Position requires an associate’s degree in an Engineering field. Completion of military technical training and/or field experience may substitute for an associate’s degree.

Physical Requirements

• May be required to walk up to 5+ miles per day.
• Able to be on feet for 8-10 hours at a time.
• Able to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, and kneel in confined spaces.
• Work at heights and on a ladder.
• Lift up to 50-75 pounds.

Pay

$35.00 to $42.00 per hour, depending on experience and level.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (with potential for overtime, compressed schedules, or night shifts as needed). Travel up to 10%.
