About the Role

As a key member of our service team, you will install, commission, and maintain powder filling and process equipment while serving as the face of the company in the field. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues, building strong customer relationships, and driving continuous improvement across customer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of powder filling and process equipment
  • Perform both planned and emergency maintenance on installed systems
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues—both onsite and remotely
  • Ensure minimal downtime and maximum equipment performance
  • Serve as the face of the company in the field
  • Build strong, lasting relationships through clear communication and professionalism
  • Identify service opportunities, recommend upgrades, and suggest spare parts
  • Support optimization of customer systems and processes
  • Prepare detailed service reports, inspection summaries, and start-up documentation
  • Collaborate with internal teams across service, sales, and project management
  • Provide operator training on equipment use and preventive maintenance
  • Conduct site visits and performance audits
  • Adhere to all safety policies, OSHA standards, and customer HSE requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of field service experience with powder handling, filling, or process equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting experience
  • Solid knowledge of pneumatics and electrical systems
  • Solid knowledge of P&IDs, instrumentation, and production diagrams
  • Solid knowledge of powder transport, packaging, and palletizing systems
  • Familiarity with GMP, FDA, 3A, and related regulatory standards
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive mindset with a strong work ethic
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% (primarily U.S. & Canada, with some international travel)

Pay

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $31 - $45 per hour. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
