Field Service Engineer II

About the role

The Field Service Engineer II position is based in the Boston, MA area. The role involves performing repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on Bio-Rad’s Life Science instruments for customers in hospitals and laboratories. The engineer may also travel to support other team members within the region.

Responsibilities

• Performing repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on Bio-Rad’s instruments to ensure their quality performance for customers.
• Serving and maintaining Bio-Rad’s instruments that customers rely on for scientific breakthroughs.
• Building and sustaining strong relationships with customers to anticipate and advocate for their needs.
• Adhering to FDA and GMP regulations and maintaining detailed records and service documentation to protect Bio-Rad’s integrity and reputation.

Requirements

• At least 1 - 3 years of transferable field service experience servicing electro-mechanical/electronic/optical/robotics equipment.
• A.S. or B.S. in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field or military equivalent experience).
• Ability to read, understand, and follow medium to highly complex work instructions.
• Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong computer skills and fundamental knowledge of computer networking.
• Strong customer relations and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for daily travel.

Qualifications

• Experience with Diagnostic or Life Science instruments is preferred.

• Hands-on experience with Diagnostic or Life Science instruments.

Pay

The estimated base salary range for this position is $80,600 to $110,800 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.

Schedule

The position involves daily visits to customer sites, with travel up to 5 days a week in the assigned territory as part of a national service team.
