Field Service Engineer II
About the role
Bio-Rad is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in the Boston, MA area to perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on our Life Science instruments for customers in hospitals and laboratories. As a Field Service Engineer, you may also be asked to travel on short notice to support other team members within the region.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on Bio-Rad’s instruments, ensuring the quality performance of our instruments for customers who are working to advance the future of healthcare.
- Support and maintain the Bio-Rad instruments on which our customers rely on to make scientific breakthroughs, helping to advance healthcare research and treatments.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with our customers to anticipate and advocate for their needs.
- Adhere to FDA and GMP regulations and requirements with detailed record keeping and service documentation to protect Bio-Rad’s integrity and reputation in the industry.
Requirements
- At least 1 - 3 years of transferable field service experience servicing electro-mechanical/electronic/optical/robotics equipment and an A.S. or B.S. in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field or military equivalent experience).
- Ability to read, understand, and successfully follow medium to highly complex work instructions.
- Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong computer skills and fundamental knowledge of computer networking.
- Strong customer relation and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for daily travel.
Preferred Skills
- Hands on experience with Diagnostic or Life Science instruments.

Compensation
The estimated base salary range for this position is $80,600 to $110,800 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
