Job Description
What You Will Be Doing:
This Position is for a member of the Capability Deployment Team (CDT) as part of the F-35 Field Operations and Logistics Solutions teams, responsible for support/integration of Block 30/40 capabilities by direct interface with USMC, USN, USAF, Partners, Operational Test and fleet squadrons.
The mission is to provide comprehensive support to all F-35 Customers encompassing all aspects of the Air Vehicle as well as all tasks related to daily sustainment of the F-35 Air System.
This position will work closely with Sustainment Life Cycle Management, Product Lifecycle Management, Engineering Project Office, Product Support Engineering, Integrated Product Teams, Program Management and LM engineering with the expectation to help develop solutions to challenges faced by field maintainers as well as seek all opportunities to streamline maintenance procedures through updates to Joint Technical Data, Anomaly & Fault Resolution System (AFRS), Prognostics and Health Management (PHM), and Action Requests (ARs).
Expected core knowledge span the full scope of the F‑35 program to include Support Equipment, Pilot Flight Equipment (PFE), technical data, supply, engineering, as well as all aspects of sustainment and will involve engagement at all levels from flightline maintainers and backshop support agencies to senior leaders at the Joint Program Office, Lightning Support Team, Department of War, Partner nations, Foreign Military Sales, and LM.
A solid understanding of the customers’ tactical and strategic vision for the F‑35 is required, along with the ability to communicate and coordinate across multiple LM engineering partners and other supporting agencies to resolve fleet‑wide challenges.
In this role you will conduct regular on‑site visits to build confidence and strong relationships with customers while delivering briefings and hands‑on support to maintenance and operations personnel on Mission Systems (MS), Vehicle Systems (VS), and related sustainment issues.
Additionally, the ability to provide real‑time troubleshooting of MS and VS problems to minimize impacts on operational, training and test missions based on maintenance expertise as part of fifth‑generation fighter employment considerations for Block 30/40 and subsequent F‑35 capability development.
Continual support of follow‑on development activities is directly tied to collaboration with PHM, AFRS, and PSE points of contact to create accurate maintenance solutions, identify inaccuracies, and chart corrective pathways.
Daily monitoring of Field Service Engineer (FSE) pass‑downs helps spot trends and flag situations needing additional assistance to return aircraft to service.
Participation in the System Product Anomaly Report board provides insight into future capability limitations and is then translated into refined TCTDs/OTRs for communication to FSEs and fleet maintainers.
This team supports global efforts thus off duty and weekend work may be required to include up to 50% of travel time.
