Field Sales Director – Independent Brokerage Channel
Job Summary
The Field Sales Director is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market presence through the promotion, education, and support of OneAmerica's life insurance and annuity product portfolio. This role serves as a trusted business partner to Independent Brokerage (IB) producers, delivering product expertise, sales strategies, and advanced planning concepts that help advisors meet the needs of their clients.
Primary Responsibilities
- Drive sales growth of OneAmerica life insurance and annuity products within the Independent Brokerage distribution channel.
- Develop and execute territory business plans to achieve sales objectives and strategic growth initiatives.
- Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with independent producers, agencies, and key distribution partners.
- Promote, train, and support advisors through in-person meetings, conferences, webinars, phone consultations, and other communication channels.
- Educate producers on product solutions, sales strategies, planning concepts, and industry trends.
- Consult with advisors on advanced planning opportunities, including retirement income, estate planning, business succession, executive compensation, and wealth transfer strategies.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities while expanding relationships with existing producers.
- Partner with internal sales, underwriting, advanced markets, marketing, and operations teams to deliver an exceptional advisor experience.
- Maintain a strong understanding of competitive market dynamics, product positioning, and industry developments.
- Represent OneAmerica at industry conferences, meetings, and advisor events.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
- Professional designations such as CLU, ChFC, CFP®, RICP®, or similar are preferred.
- Three or more years of external wholesaling, field sales, business development, or financial services sales experience required.
- Experience working within the Independent Brokerage, Independent Marketing Organization (IMO), or financial advisor distribution channels preferred.
- Knowledge of economics-based planning systems (e.g., LEAP, Wealth Building Cornerstones, or similar financial planning tools) is desirable.
- Understanding of advanced sales concepts including retirement planning, estate planning, charitable giving, executive compensation, and business succession planning preferred.
- Proven ability to influence, educate, and drive sales results through relationship-based consulting.
- Strong presentation, training, and public-speaking skills.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a territory, prioritize opportunities, and work independently.
- Able to travel approximately 50–60% of the time.
Salary Band
This selected candidate will be expected to work fully remote. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team building and collaboration. Consistent with applicable pay transparency laws, we disclose the annual compensation range for this position to be $125,000 - $200,000 which is inclusive of the base salary and the target annual incentive compensation for this role. Actual compensation will be determined by factors such as education, experience, performance, geographical location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
