Field Safety Consultant - OSHA 500 required
This role is based in Charlotte, NC. Overnights expected. Candidate should be willing to travel.
About the Role
The Field Safety Consultant inspects client work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations. This position will work to create and enforce a culture of safety within Exceed Safety LLC and all of our clients’ workplaces. Responsibilities include documenting safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures, and maintaining safety equipment supply and availability. This position reports to the Director of Client Engagement and the assigned Subject Matter Expert/Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to all Exceed Safety LLC and client’s employees
- Supervise field safety compliance by ensuring that Exceed Safety LLC and client’s employees are fulfilling labor safety policies
- Conduct safety classes as well as new hire safety orientations
- Responsible for all county, state, and federal DOT compliance requirements
- Enhance job knowledge by participating in educational training sessions
- Inspect working conditions in manufacturing sites to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, as well as Exceed Safety LLC and our client’s requirements
- Perform safety audits, job hazard analysis, and incident investigations
- Advise and assist in the development and implementation of plans, policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure safety programs are aligned with company and site goals
- Conduct/assist with the incident investigation process to ensure thorough investigations, provide resolutions, and issue reports
- Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues
- Intervene in unsafe activities or operations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 10 years experience in construction safety
- OSHA 500 certification
- Tech savvy with ability to learn and adopt new technologies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher in Occupational, Health & Safety sciences
- Technical writing skills
- Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to anticipate needs, be resourceful, and use sound judgment and tact
Work Environment
Work is conducted in both indoor office settings and outdoor jobsite settings. Environmental conditions will vary.

Schedule
This is a full-time position. Overnight shifts will be required. Travel to additional job sites is also required.
