Field Safety Consultant - OSHA 30 required

FUNCTION

The Field Safety Consultant inspects client work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations. This position will work to create and enforce a culture of safety within Exceed Safety LLC and all of our clients’ workplaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide support to all Exceed Safety LLC and client’s employees
• Supervises field safety compliance by ensuring that Exceed Safety LLC and client’s employees are fulfilling labor safety policies
• Conducts safety classes as well as new hire safety orientations
• Responsible for all county, states, and federal DOT compliance requirements
• Enhance job knowledge by participating in educational training sessions
• Inspect working conditions in manufacturing sites to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, as well as Exceed Safety LLC and our client’s requirements
• Perform safety audits, job hazard analysis and incident investigations
• Advise and assist in the development and implementation of plans, policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure safety programs are aligned with company and site goals
• Conduct/assist with the incident investigation process to ensure thorough investigations, provide resolutions, and issue reports
• Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues
• Intervene in unsafe activities or operations

COMPETENCIES

• Basic: High school diploma or equivalent
• OSHA 30
• Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate Degree in Occupational, Health & Safety sciences or minimum of 5 years experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety position
• Technical writing a plus
• Strong time management, organizational skills, and strong attention to detail
• Able to anticipate needs, be resourceful and use sound judgment and tact

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, type, carry up to 40 lbs, pushing and bending. May be required to occasionally work at heights and in confined space.

OTHER INFORMATION

• This is a full-time position
• Willing to work different shifts and travel up to 80% of the time
• This is a 1 year contracted position
• Up to $45 per hour depending on experience
• Per diem is paid per day worked is $178.00 if not local, have to be at least 50 miles away to qualify for per diem
