About the role

The Field Payroll CBA Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and compliant union benefits and payroll operations. This position is part of a team that handles some of the most significant projects in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all union fringe benefits are accurately set up and calculated in payroll systems.
  • Reconcile fringe benefit accruals, payments, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries for fringe benefits.
  • Maintain accurate member data and address complex reporting errors.
  • Support labor statistics reporting and survey requirements.
  • Prepare pension footnotes for financial statements and annual pension contribution reports.
  • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities.
  • Work with IT on union benefits reporting issues and system enhancements.
  • Train Field Payroll CBA Specialist 1 and 2 on their assigned tasks.
  • Respond to complex trust funds, union, and employee inquiries.
  • Provide support when needed on other Support tasks like fringe reports, reviewing incoming mail, new hire setup, and VOE requests.
  • Make deduction and refund adjustments for under- or over-payments.
  • Update Rate Grids and communicate CBA agreement changes to all impacted parties.
  • Prepare SOPs and other documentation to ensure all policies and procedures are followed.

Requirements

  • Advance knowledge of payroll and union fringe requirements.
  • Ability to independently follow procedures and policies.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive union payroll or benefits experience.
  • In-depth experience with multi-state union payrolls.
  • Advanced knowledge of CBAs, fringe benefits, and multi-union environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Exposure to payroll systems preferred, Oracle Fusion is a plus.

Skills

  • Knowledge of union benefits and CBA payroll compliance.
  • Experience with union fringe benefits and multi-union environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with payroll systems, particularly Oracle Fusion.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $38.60 - $51.00 per hour, with candidate's pay varying based on location, job-related experience, skills, and education.

Schedule

General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
