About The Role

This role bridges Operations and Technology, helping field personnel adopt tools that improve visibility, reporting, productivity, and operational efficiency. The specialist works directly with foremen, superintendents, project managers, and office staff to understand needs, gather requirements, provide training, and support long‑term system utilization. The focus is on field and office adoption of new technologies, workflow support, and process improvement—not software development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and deployment of field and work‑management systems across operating divisions, including travel to offices, job sites, and field locations for training and support.
  • Observe existing workflows, identify efficiency opportunities, and act as the primary point of contact during deployment and go‑live activities.
  • Develop and maintain implementation plans, deployment schedules, and a network of field “super users” to sustain adoption.
  • Monitor user adoption and system utilization metrics, recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Create training materials, user guides, job aids, and reference documentation; deliver instructor‑led, virtual, and hands‑on field training.
  • Provide coaching, support onboarding of new employees, and gather user feedback for system enhancements.
  • Document business processes, gather requirements for new customers, workflows, reporting needs, and system enhancements.
  • Assist with development, testing, and user acceptance of operational solutions; help reduce spreadsheet dependency.
  • Configure and maintain Microsoft Power Platform components (Dataverse tables, forms, views, workflows, security permissions).
  • Troubleshoot system issues, coordinate with technical resources, and support data validation, cleanup, and dashboard administration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in utility construction, transmission/distribution operations, field operations support, or construction technology.
  • Direct experience working with field personnel, foremen, superintendents, project managers, and operational leaders.
  • Strong understanding of utility construction operations and field workflows.
  • Experience supporting software implementations, operational systems, or process‑improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
  • Ability to gather operational requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required safety training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in electric utility transmission and distribution construction.
  • Familiarity with field management, work‑management, or construction software platforms.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Experience conducting field training and supporting organizational change management.
  • Background in operational reporting, production tracking, or job‑costing systems.
  • Understanding of utility customer reporting requirements and field documentation processes.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Combination of office and field‑based work; frequent visits to active construction sites, service centers, and operational facilities.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, dust, uneven terrain).
  • Must be able to walk construction sites, climb in and out of vehicles, and stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds.
  • Extensive use of computers and mobile devices.
  • Required use of company‑provided personal protective equipment (PPE) when on field locations.
