Manages all material logistics for refinery turnarounds & maintenance, including procurement, staging, inventory control, and vendor coordination. Ensures timely availability of critical components to support safe, efficient, and on-schedule execution.

- Manage all materials procurement and logistics for refinery turnaround events.
- Review work scopes and BOMs to identify required parts, consumables, and specialty items.
- Coverage with planners, engineers, and contractors to verify material specifications and lead times.
- Create and track purchase orders, expedite critical materials, and resolve supply delays.
- Oversee receiving, inspection, and QA verification for all turnaround materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts, material status reports, and staging plans.
- Organize and control laydown yards, tool cribs, and material staging areas for efficient access.
- Ensure materials are delivered to work fronts safely, on time, and in proper sequence.
- Interface with vendors to confirm availability, pricing, certifications, and delivery schedules.
- Support turnaround scheduling by updating material readiness and resolving shortages.
- Cook unused materials, rental equipment, and surplus items post-turnaround.
- Ensure all material handling complies with refinery safety, environmental, and procurement standards.
Qualifications
- 6+ years experience in materials coordination, procurement, or supply chain within refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of turnaround (TA) and maintenance workflows, BOMs, and work package requirements.
- Proficient in ERP systems such as SAP, Maximo, Oracle, or similar MRO platforms.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, material specs, and isometric piping documents.
- Skilled in inventory management, staging logistics, and laydown yard organization.
- Strong vendor management skills, including expediting, sourcing, and negotiation.
- Knowledge of refinery safety standards, permitting processes, and material handling best practices.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional coordination with planners, engineers, supervisors, and contractors.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in fast-paced, high-volume turnaround environments.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially under tight schedule deadlines.
- Physically able to work in refinery field conditions during pre-TA and TA execution phases.
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting.
- Hearing, speaking, understanding, and communicating effectively.
- Lifting, carrying, and moving up to 50 lbs.
- Working at heights, climbing ladders and stairways, and working off of platforms while utilizing proper fall protection and safety protocols.
- Working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
- Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots.

Pay
- The typical hiring range for this position in Washington is $41.00 to 52.00 per hour.
- Full range for this position, available over time: $41.00 to 55.00 per hour.
