Field Financial Coordinator
About the role
The Financial Coordinator will manage accounts receivable, billings, and collections for assigned hospital(s), including reporting, discount processing, closing open invoices, and managing third-party relationships. They will also assist in financial audits, support the Client Service Team with elevated client financial issues, and partner with hospital teams to improve revenue collection workflows.
Responsibilities
- Audit records for accuracy and verify charges align with patient treatment records.
- Work with hospital leadership to rectify recurring charge capture issues and educate associates on charge capture protocols.
- Manage accounts receivable, billings, and collections for assigned hospital(s).
- Support hospital teams with end-of-day and end-of-month processes and reports.
- Utilize tools and reports to identify charge capture trends and provide feedback on loss mitigation tactics and organizational charging guidelines.
- Assist in financial audits at the direction of hospital leadership.
- Support Client Service Team with elevated client financial issues, providing guidance on communications, pricing, and payment policies through a patient-centric approach.
- Partners with hospital team, field leaders, and other support departments to improve revenue collection workflows.
- Ensure all hospital financial transactions comply with hospital and organizational policies and regulations.
Requirements
Organized, fiscally responsible, and goal-driven. Experience in a similar role preferred. Knowledge of healthcare billing and coding standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic understanding of financial management principles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in healthcare finance or billing.
- Knowledge of healthcare billing and coding standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
