About the role
The Financial Coordinator will play a crucial role in Smile Doctors' mission to provide exceptional patient care while maintaining a supportive and dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with patients regarding past due accounts using phone, email, and text messaging
- Work with clinic team members to ensure payments are collected
- Collect and process payments on past due accounts
- Work with patients to make payment arrangements as necessary
- Perform general office and administrative duties assisting with the patient process
- Process and document clinic forms accurately to ensure HIPAA and State law compliance
- Verify patient eligibility, submit insurance claims, and manage the process until claim is funded
- May reconcile cash balance and manage Account Receivables and Payables, including making bank deposits
- Adjust patient ledgers
Requirements
- High School diploma required
- Minimum of 1 (one) year experience in billing, collections, or insurance processing
- Basic knowledge of computer and standard office equipment
- Basic knowledge of mathematical principles
- Basic knowledge of current collection laws preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Applications with proficiency in SharePoint & Excel
