Field Engineer Intern

About the role

As a Field Engineer Intern at Concrete Strategies, you'll dive into the heart of construction operations, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Your role will involve collaborating closely with project teams and experienced professionals to support various construction projects from inception to completion.

• Site Operations & Supervision: Assist with site preparation, inspections, and ensuring that construction activities adhere to safety standards and project plans.
• Construction Tasks: Participate in hands-on construction activities, such as concrete pouring, framing, finishing, and various specialized trades.
• Project Documentation: Help maintain accurate project documentation, including blueprints, schedules, and progress reports.
• Safety Oversight: Assist in maintaining a safe work environment and promoting adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
• Measurement and Analysis: Learn to take accurate measurements, track quantities of materials used, and assist in project cost estimation and budget management.
• Coordination: Collaborate with general contractors, vendors, and various teams to coordinate schedules, tasks, deliveries, and logistics.
• Quality Control: Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure work meets specifications and quality standards.
• Team Leadership: Work alongside teams of skilled tradespeople and laborers, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
• Problem Solving: Participate in identifying and addressing on-site challenges to keep the project progressing smoothly.
• Client Interaction: Participate in client meetings and updates, contributing to effective communication and client satisfaction.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of construction principles, methods, and materials.
• Proficiency in using construction software and tools.
• Interest in gaining hands-on experience on construction sites.
• Willingness to learn and apply safety regulations and protocols.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to interact with diverse team members, contractors, and project stakeholders.
