About the Role

MGX Field Crane Technicians are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks at the Lee's Summit branch. This role reports to the Service Manager and offers a $4,500 sign-on bonus after 90 days of continuous service, eligibility for a Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year, and potential relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Light diagnosis, repair, and troubleshooting of various mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes.
  • Accomplish tasks independently without direct supervision.
  • Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
  • Properly fill out working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews, and expense reports.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician preferred.
  • Mechanical background and related experience with electrical and hydraulics; ability to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Experience in preventative maintenance and light equipment repair (e.g., oil changes, brake jobs).
  • May be required to travel to job sites and for training up to 50% of the time.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Experience working with different forms of mobile crane and/or heavy equipment is a plus.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.

The physical demands include exposure to extreme temperatures, various weather conditions, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 40 pounds is required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
