Heavy Equipment Technician Mechanic

About the Role

We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic who is a self-starter and enjoys working with diesel engines and problem-solving. This role will diagnose, service, and repair Vermeer and related construction equipment. If you’re mechanically inclined, hands-on, and ready to build a career with a supportive team, we want to hear from you.

Compensation & Schedule

• $25.00 - $32.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Production bonuses available
• Sign-on bonus up to $5,000 for qualified candidates

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, and recondition Vermeer equipment
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions, including hydraulic and electrical systems
• Perform welding as needed
• Recognize and recommend appropriate repairs to the Service Manager
• Create accurate repair estimates (CDK experience a plus)
• Communicate with OEM/factory for technical assistance
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude with hydraulic and electrical diagnostic capability
• Previous experience working on heavy equipment or heavy-duty trucks
• Proficient ability to document in CDK
• Detail-oriented, organized, safety-focused, and team player
