About the role

National General is seeking an Auto Claims Appraiser to join our Saint Louis, MO team. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with repair facilities and customers by completing on-site estimates and vehicle appraisals. The ideal candidate will be based in Saint Louis and have experience managing a variety of auto claims, conducting vehicle inspections, and using CCC ONE estimating software to prepare accurate damage estimates.

Responsibilities

• Create or audit comprehensive estimates of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims in auto or specialty lines, leading to proper disposition.
• Train, mentor, control quality, and provide technical assistance on material damage claims.
• Possess strong estimating fundamentals to evaluate damages of all severities.
• Demonstrate deep understanding of all policy types written by the company.
• Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments, and document activities in complex files across multiple lines.
• Evaluate settlement alternatives by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices; decide on the best option.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers across multiple lines.

Requirements

• Experience managing a variety of auto claims and conducting vehicle inspections.
• Proficiency with CCC ONE estimating software.
• Individuals holding an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments during employment.
• Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed by the licensing team.

Pay

Base compensation offered for this role is:

• Field Adjuster Cons I: $26.49 – $40.99/hour
• Field Adjuster Cons II: $28.03 – $43.70/hour
• Field Adjuster Sr. Cons I: $35.82 – $50.24/hour

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation may include additional components such as incentive pay (e.g., commission or bonus), if applicable.
