About the role

The role involves managing and implementing tax compliance strategies for clients, focusing on tax provision, direct and indirect tax returns preparation, and tax reform calculations. You will also lead the development of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks, and help shape operating models aligned with tax regulations and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver processes, solutions, or projects with a strong focus on quality and risk management.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and identify innovative solutions through research and analysis.
  • Apply expertise to guide others and recommend quality solutions.
  • Lead workstream delivery, track project status, and manage engagement economics.
  • Participate in client working sessions and lead workstreams from planning through closure.
  • Navigate complex tax environments, develop solutions to intricate problems, and recommend changes to policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a graduate degree in Tax or Law.
  • No less than 4 - 6 years of relevant tax experience.
  • CPA certification or licensed attorney status.
  • Demonstrated expertise in tax compliance and accounting for income tax reporting requirements.
  • Strong awareness of finance compliance and regulation.
  • Understanding of global compliance requirements.
  • Ability to assess tax legislation and its impact.
  • Familiarity with outsourcing/co-sourcing models.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of US income tax accounting and tax provisions.
  • Experience leading professional employees or supervising others to deliver complex technical initiatives.
  • Experience with hybrid collaboration and global teams.

  • Meet performance objectives and metrics set locally, including client service, quality and risk management, sales and business growth, solution development, and teaming.

Pay

The base salary range for this role in all geographic locations in the US is $103,600 to $189,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $124,300 to $215,800. Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.

Schedule

Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your well-being.
