About the role
In the role of Federal Engineering Manager (EM), you'll be responsible for:
- Developing a partnership with a Project Manager (PM) for scope, schedule, budget, and client management.
- Leading the technical team and executing project deliverables.
- Assigning project tasks and providing technical guidance to the project team.
- Supporting the technical aspects of scope, schedule, and budget, including proposal development, work breakdown structure development, progress assessment, risk assessment/mitigation, change management, and schedule management.
- Directing, mentoring, and/or training one or more Project Engineers, EIT’s, or CADD/Designers.
- Coordinating and performing quality checks and reviews for all project deliverables according to HDR Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements.
- Performing quality checks and/or reviews of projects from other teams as needed.
- Leading multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations.
- Identifying and developing specific technical expertise under the guidance of senior engineers and technical leaders, attending relevant training and seminars, and assisting with developing technical papers and presentations for industry conferences and events.
- Participating in project reviews with management as needed.
Responsibilities

- Support the technical aspects of scope, schedule, and budget, including proposal development, work breakdown structure development, progress assessment, risk assessment/mitigation, change management, and schedule management.
- Lead the technical team and execute project deliverables.
- Direct, mentor, and/or train one or more Project Engineers, EIT’s, or CADD/Designers.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
- A minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
- A professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.

Skills
- Ability to lead multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations.
- Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
- Extensive experience with DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
- Understanding cybersecurity requirements for electrical infrastructure.
