Federal Engineering Manager (Electrical Engineer)
About the role
In the role of Federal Engineering Manager (EM), you'll be responsible for:
- Developing a partnership with a Project Manager (PM)
- Leading the technical team and executing project deliverables
- Supporting the technical aspects of scope, schedule, and budget
- Assigning project tasks and providing technical guidance
- Mentoring and training project team members
- Performing quality checks and reviews for project deliverables
- Leading multiple projects concurrently
- Identifying and developing technical expertise
- Attending training and seminars to enhance technical understanding
- Developing technical papers and presentations for industry conferences
Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing a project execution plan for the technical aspect of projects
- Supporting the technical aspects of scope, schedule, and budget
- Leading a team of Project Engineers, EIT’s, or CADD/Designers
- Interpreting IEEE, NFPA 70 (NEC), and NESC standards
- Ensuring compliance with DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
- Managing project reviews with management as needed
Requirements
Required qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
- A minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
- A professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Master’s degree in Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
- Experience with DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
- Knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, and signal design
- Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software
