Family Service Coordinator

About the Role

The Family Service Coordinator is directly responsible for the service provision and housing assistance for the families in the Affordable Housing Portfolio. This program serves a diverse community of families, seniors and people with disabilities living in an affordable housing setting. This position will work in conjunction with the Property Manager at the housing site.

Responsibilities

• Conduct needs-based assessments, community outreach, and provide case management services
• Support housing retention and connection to income resources and/or public benefits
• Serve as an advocate and liaison between residents and providers
• Assist with job placement and educational programs to increase income and life skills
• Attend meetings and training within the community
• Collaborate care with service providers and multi-disciplinary teams
• Coordinate and/or facilitate health, wellness, and educational programs tailored to resident needs to improve resident wellbeing and foster a strong sense of community
• Maintain existing partnerships and establish new partnerships to expand opportunities and resources available to residents
• When applicable, provide engaging programming for youth in the community

Qualifications

• College degree in human services, social work, or 2 years in a closely related field or related experience
• At minimum, one full year working with families
• Willing to obtain first aid, automated external defibrillator and cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications and keep current
• Criminal and civil background checks within 30 days of hire
• Excellent interpersonal skills and good organizational skills
• Proficient in using Windows environment and working with databases

Pay

Salary range: $20.20 - $23.05 per hour. Starting pay based on experience.
