Family Practitioner/General Practitioner
Golden and District Hospital is seeking a Family Physician with Enhanced Surgical Skills (ESS) or Obstetrical Surgical Skills (OSS) to join a close-knit, multidisciplinary team in Golden, BC. Contact: Dr. Christy Trafananko (Perinatal Chair Lead) or Dr. Dr. Allison Clare (Chief of Staff).
About the role
We invite physicians trained in performing cesarean sections to join the Golden Medical Clinic and Golden and District Hospital. Our clinic and hospital are built on collaboration, support, and a commitment to community health. The team currently includes two enhanced surgical skilled physicians and one obstetrical surgical trained physician. We are seeking a fourth surgical call provider trained in obstetrical care.
Call volume is 1 in 4, with a supportive environment where physicians often assist each other on cases.
Responsibilities
- Perform vacuum-assisted vaginal deliveries
- Perform cesarean sections
- Optional: Dilation and curettage (D&C)

- Emergency shifts compensated under the new Alternative Payments Subsidiary Agreement (APSA) contract
