Family Partner

Job Summary

The Family Partner is a person with lived experience parenting a child experiencing mental, emotional, or behavioral health challenges and who can articulate their understanding of their experience with another parent or family member. The Family Partner provides information, referrals, advocacy, informal support, peer mentoring, and education services to parents and caregivers of youth receiving crisis and behavioral health services through the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) and Youth Crisis Outreach Team (YCOT).

About the Role

As a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, the Family Partner works toward improving outcomes for youth and families by helping caregivers navigate systems of care, strengthening family engagement, promoting resiliency, and empowering families to actively participate in treatment and recovery planning.

Responsibilities

• Provides information, referrals, advocacy, informal support, peer mentoring, and education services to parents and caregivers of youth receiving crisis and behavioral health services through the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) and Youth Crisis Outreach Team (YCOT).
• Works toward improving outcomes for youth and families by helping caregivers navigate systems of care, strengthening family engagement, promoting resiliency, and empowering families to actively participate in treatment and recovery planning.
• Draws upon their own lived experience to foster trust, understanding, and hope.
• Provides education regarding process rights, community resources, trainings, support systems, peer networks, and available services.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current and valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals and families in crisis situations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including those from different cultural backgrounds.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
• Knowledge of mental health and behavioral health issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

$23.03 per hour, plus an additional 10% crisis stipend.

Schedule

Full-Time. Workdays: Monday - Friday, some weekends. Workhours: 10:00AM - 8:00PM or 12:00PM - 10:00PM.
