Key Responsibilities
- Use your lived experience as a parent or caregiver of a child with behavioral health needs to support other families.
- Provide peer support to parents and caregivers.
- Help families identify strengths and develop strategies to meet care plan goals.
- Educate families on navigating child-serving systems such as DCF, DMH, education, and behavioral health.
- Empower families by linking them to peer networks and support groups.
- Connect families with both formal and community-based resources.
- Foster a culturally responsive and inclusive environment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Collaborate with care teams and attend family planning meetings.
- Actively engage in supervision and ongoing training.
Who You Are
- You have personal experience as a caregiver of a youth with special or behavioral health needs.
- You have a High School diploma/GED and at least 2 years of experience working with children/adolescents/transition-age youth, or an Associate’s Degree and 1 year of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of relevant experience.
- You are knowledgeable about navigating child and family-serving systems.
- You have strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- You are comfortable using electronic systems and documentation tools.
- You are culturally responsive and value diverse lived experiences.
- You have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Bilingual—fluent in English and Spanish (preferred).
