About the role

The Department of Family Medicine is one of 11 clinical departments at East Carolina University's Brody School of Medicine. The Department of Family Medicine at ECU is a nationally recognized leader in Family Medicine education. Located in a 120,000 sq. ft. facility, the department provides a wide variety of comprehensive primary care services for all age groups to include: geriatrics, sports medicine, obstetrical care, office-based procedures, nutrition services, counseling, and psychological support in an integrated care model.

Responsibilities

• Employment by ECU Health Physicians-Academic Employment Model
• Growing 9-hospital physician-led healthcare system
• Growing division inclusive of 44 physicians and 7 advanced practice providers
• Outpatient clinical responsibilities/inpatient negotiable
• Monday – Friday work week
• Patient care activities which may include ambulatory direct patient care to an assigned panel of patients and patients of other providers and precepting residents
• Hospital patient care will include bedside teaching of residents, medical and PA students
• Medical Student teaching responsibilities may include didactic teaching one or two afternoons per week in the Foundations of Doctoring or other courses
• Strong emphasis on teaching, mentoring, advising, supervision of residents, medical students, and other learners
• Opportunities to develop administrative and scholarship skills

Requirements

• Required: ACLS & BCLS certifications

• Board-eligible/board-certified Family Medicine or Med/Peds physician
