Family Advocate

Role: Bilingual Family Advocate supporting families impacted by mental health conditions through education, emotional support, resource navigation, and advocacy. Responsibilities: Provide peer-based guidance, conduct intakes and assessments, develop safety plans, facilitate support groups and workshops, maintain client records, and collaborate with community partners to connect families with services. Qualifications: Lived experience as a family caregiver of someone with a mental health challenge, high school diploma or GED, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and bilingual ability in one of Alameda County's threshold languages (e.g., Spanish, Chinese, Korean). Skills & Attributes: Empathy, active listening, understanding behavioral health systems, and ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations. Preferred qualifications include experience facilitating groups, navigating healthcare systems, and relevant certifications. Key Duties: Support families through in-person, virtual, and outreach activities; advocate for client needs; promote self-advocacy; and assist in connecting families to community resources to foster wellness and resilience.
