This faculty position in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at The University of Kansas Medical Center provides high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care within the faculty member’s area of specialization. The role is jointly employed by The University of Kansas Medical Center and The University of Kansas Health System, supporting the clinical, educational, research, and service missions of both institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage rehabilitation medicine patients and programs, including functional restoration, medical and interventional pain management for patients with pain, spine, and/or musculoskeletal rehabilitation needs.
  • Conduct pain, spine, and/or musculoskeletal clinics at designated locations.
  • Collaborate with spine surgeons, pain anesthesia, and other relevant specialists.
  • Supervise and teach fellows, residents, and medical students when assigned.
  • Lecture to fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Attend Grand Rounds as scheduled.
  • Maintain scholarly activity commensurate with the appropriate academic track.
  • Contribute to departmental and divisional academic activities through teaching, scholarly engagement, committee service, and other initiatives that advance the missions of the department, division, and institution.

Requirements

  • MD/DO or equivalent degree.
  • Board Certified or Board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fellowship training in Pain Medicine or Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine.
