Facility Operations Manager

Safety Kleen, located in Richmond, CA, is seeking a Facility Operations Manager to oversee day‑to‑day operations of its medical waste processing facility. The role combines industry and logistics experience with strong administrative skills and includes supervision of a Facility Operations Supervisor and a team of six technicians on day/night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety is the top priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Emphasize productivity, health & safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and enforce operating plans for each project and ensure personnel follow them.
• Provide onsite supervision, training, and mentoring to supervisors and technicians; contribute to performance evaluations.
• Meet daily production goals, including trailer off‑loading/receiving, consolidation, medical waste processing, box‑truck off‑loading, and outbound operations.
• Set and assign daily area tasks and goals; troubleshoot operational difficulties.
• Act as emergency coordinator and point of contact for the facility during the shift; serve as manager on duty.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field (required).
• 5+ years of experience in a processing or chemical facility (required).
• Supervisory or management experience in chemical operations (required).
• Medical waste or autoclave processing experience (asset).
• P&L/Budget experience (asset).
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• OSHA training and experience (preferred).
