Facility Maintenance Worker I (Interim) (Non-Merit)

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains grounds equipment and tools such as mowers, weed trimmers, welders, pressure washers, leaf blowers, and similar machinery.
• Performs groundskeeping tasks including mowing, trimming, weed and invasive species control, trail maintenance, landscaping, storm debris cleanup, and snow/ice removal.
• Conducts routine outdoor maintenance and repairs to facilities, including painting, carpentry, and upkeep of signage, exhibits, overlooks, fencing, and benches.
• Maintains tools, equipment, and work/storage areas in safe and working condition; assists skilled trades staff as needed.
• Provides janitorial services for buildings and public areas, including trash removal, dusting, sweeping, window and exhibit cleaning, and restroom maintenance.
• Supports facility operations by assisting with opening and closing procedures, securing buildings and gates, and powering exhibit systems on/off.
• Affords janitorial services for buildings and public areas, including trash removal, dusting, sweeping, window and exhibit cleaning, and restroom maintenance.
• Assists with setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, displays, equipment, signage, and other materials for programs, events, meetings, and rentals.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures requires adherence to safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection when using certain mechanical equipment.
