Facility Maint. Manager II

About the role

Safety-Kleen is seeking a Facility Maintenance Manager II to lead all maintenance activities at the Metairie, LA facility. This role is responsible for managing the maintenance department’s functions, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, while ensuring adherence to safety policies and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health & Safety is the #1 priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Manage maintenance department functions, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Provide preventative mechanical, electrical, and software maintenance support.
• Support various software control platforms for complete package lines.
• Assemble components and parts as required by manufacturers.
• Demonstrate extensive working knowledge of all plant electrical equipment and applications.
• Manage inventory of spare/critical parts.
• Ensure work meets all applicable Health & Safety Standard Operating Procedures and hold employees accountable.
• Review and ensure compliance with all applicable SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office (required).
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel, from production to management (required).
• Background in Engineering (preferred).
• Strong customer service focus with the ability to assure customer confidence in equipment operation (required).
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical/pneumatic schematics (required).
• Proficiency in Instrumentation and Electrical trades (required).
• 4+ years of specific trade or plant-related experience (required).
• 2+ years of management experience (required).
• Experience in the blending and packaging industry (preferred).
• Experience installing and troubleshooting PLC motion control software and hardware, including repair/maintenance of capital equipment or electronics such as servo drives (preferred).
• Experience working with HMIs and programmable controllers (preferred).
• Background in project management (asset).
