Facility Designer I
About the role
The Facility Designer I plays a crucial role in HDR's O&M Facilities Design team. This individual is responsible for developing a significant portion of project deliverables, including facility programming, report writing, site master planning, and developing specifications and construction documents. They also coordinate and layout various aspects of design such as industrial shop equipment, site flow, and utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) to complete different levels of documents. The role involves submittal, shop drawing, and review of Request for Information (RFI).
Responsibilities
- Facility programming, report writing, site master planning, developing specifications and construction documents
- Selecting, coordinating, and laying out various aspects of design (industrial shop equipment, site flow, etc.)
- Creating / using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to complete different levels of documents
- Submittal, shop drawing, and RFI review
- Conducting construction field observations
- Performing other design / engineering tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience in industrial design, facility planning, equipment layout, or workflow analysis is preferred but will consider entry-level candidates with a 4-year degree and strong BIM skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional level of accuracy and detail.
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, industrial design, or related field.
- Command of Revit and AutoCAD, and knowledge of SketchUp.
- Working knowledge of LOD 300 requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in industrial design, facility planning, equipment layout, or workflow analysis.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. For Colorado, the range is $61,523.00 - $87,890.00.
