About the role

Performs complex maintenance and repair services of the hospital’s physical plant; equipment, buildings and properties. Duties may include one or more of the following areas: mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, paint or HVAC. Operates and maintains stationary gas and oil fired boilers and auxiliaries in supplying hot water and steam for other power‑generating purposes. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC‑Anaheim Regional Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values of AHMC‑ARMC. The employee shall support AHMC‑Anaheim Regional Medical Center’s strategic plan and goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. The employee will also be expected to support all organizational expectations including, but not limited to: Customer Service, Patient’s Rights, Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care and AHMC‑ARMC initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex maintenance and repair services in mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, paint, or HVAC areas.
  • Operate and maintain stationary gas and oil fired boilers and auxiliaries to supply hot water and steam for power‑generating purposes.
  • Support the hospital’s mission, core values, strategic plan, performance improvement plan, and organizational expectations (Customer Service, Patient’s Rights, Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care, AHMC‑ARMC initiatives).

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in construction, carpentry, plumbing, painting, or HVAC.
  • Demonstrated experience, proficiency, and expertise (or license) in one or more of the above trade areas.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical hand‑held tools, power equipment (drills, saws, pneumatic tools, compressors, airless sprays), pumps and pumping systems, scaffolding and ladders, trucks and forklifts.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively.
  • Previous experience within the healthcare industry preferred.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to interact effectively with patients, customers, and associates exhibiting superior integrated customer service and teamwork.
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy while directing co‑workers.
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent organization and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work within defined time constraints.
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
